Hi! We are two seniors at Montgomery Blair High School. We enjoy learning about math, science, and computer science, as well as applying concepts to solve problems both in and out of school. We created this program to assist elementary school students in solidifying their foundations in math so that they will have the tools necessary to enter the STEM field. We have also found that giving young girls role models in STEM is very impactful. By working in areas where students would not normally receive out-of-school support, we hope to level the playing field in STEM.
In 2019-2020, we created an after-school math club at Twinbrook Elementary School. In the 2020-2021 school year, we (virtually) expanded our services and team to four elementary schools in Montgomery County. In the upcoming 2021-2022 school year, we hope to take what we’ve learned the last two years and offer both in-person and virtual options. If you are a high school student in Montgomery County or an elementary school, we’d love for you to join!
